Bank Robber Who Hid Out Behind Christmas Tree is Gambling Addict

(Associated Press) - The FBI says a 28-year-old man faces federal and state charges after he robbed a credit union in Bend, then went on a shopping spree that included buying a Christmas tree he later used to try and hide from police.

Woman Who Mowed Down Pedestrians on Vegas Strip Appears in Court

Prosecutors Wednesday received extra time to prepare for a preliminary hearing in what authorities say was an intentional case of a crash along the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday that killed one person and injured at least 35.

Two New Casinos in Northern New Jersey Just West of Manhattan Still Being Debated

State lawmakers still cannot agree on how to ask voters whether to allow two new casinos in Northern New Jersey.

Both the Senate and Assembly committees met on Monday to discuss their amended bills but significant differences remain between the two including who is eligible to build the new casinos and how the new tax revenue they generate would be divvied up.

Oregon Woman Held in Vegas Sidewalk Car Rampage That Killed One, Injured 35

(Reuters) -- An Oregon woman who intentionally drove her car onto a crowded Las Vegas Strip sidewalk on Sunday night, killing one person and injuring at least 35 others, was homeless and had been living in her vehicle with her 3-year-old child, police said on Monday.

Lakeisha N. Holloway, 24, was arrested a short distance from the scene of the carnage, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Joe Lombardo said at a news conference.

Atlantic City Faces Bankruptcy After Failure to Make $62 Million in Tax Refunds

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – (Associated Press) - The Borgata casino asked a judge Monday to order Atlantic City to pay more than $62 million in tax refunds that the court has already determined the casino should get — a move that could end in seizure of some of the seaside gambling resort's assets or even bankruptcy.

The city missed a Sunday deadline to pay the refunds, which were ordered by a tax court that found the city had assessed the casino's property at too high a level given Atlantic City's declining gambling market. The refunds concern tax years 2009 and 2010.

Stunner for Bookies as Giants Cover With Huge Comeback

The New York Giants didn’t win outright, though they came close.  What the Giants did do is provide the bookies with an early Christmas present thanks to an improbable come-from-behind performance that allowed New York to tie 35-35 in the final two minutes.

Carolina had been a -4 road favorite coming into this game, winning by a field goal.  They owned it coming into the fourth quarter.

San Diego Casinos Raided: Not ‘Terrorist Related’

Law enforcement dressed in full raid gear were in the process of raiding two San Diego casinos Wednesday shortly before 9 am this morning.

Seven Mile Casino on Bay Boulevard in Chula Vista and the Black Jack Palomar Casino on El Cajon Boulevard and Oregon Street were targeted.

Witnesses to the scene say that FBI agents were in full raid gear.   

FBI spokesperson Special Agent Darrell Foxworth said the raid was not terrorism related but could not provide more details.

Mike Francesa Loses His Mind Arguing With Assemblyman Dean Murray Over DFS Bill

Radio host Mike Francesa went off on New York State Assemblyman Dean Murray for proposing legislation that would make Daily Fantasy Sports a “game of skill”.

"Why would you do that?" Francesa said. "It is not a game of skill, it's a game of chance."

A New York judge was in the process of determining just that as of Wednesday when this was being published.

This would ultimately turn into a heated back and forth between the two. 

"I know, I know, you know it all," Murray said. "You have no concept."
