It’s all about College Basketball, at least for the first half of the day Saturday.

Perhaps the most wagered on side of the day would have to be Arkansas at +15.5 and seeing 85% of the action.

What’s Everybody Betting On – February 27: Latest NBA, College Basketball Lines

Today’s betting action mostly centered on the NBA even though there are some College Basketball games on tap.

The Golden State Warriors were seeing the most action against Toronto as a -2 road favorite.  86% of those betting this game were backing the Warriors.

FC Bayern Munchen was attracting 80% of the action in their matchup against FC Koln.

Betting on the Olympics Now Allowed in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Associated Press) — Come summer 2016, when the best of the best athletes climb podiums wearing gold, silver and bronze medals, Las Vegas gamblers could very well be counting their green.

Nevada gambling regulators voted Thursday to allow the state's sports books to offer bets on the Olympics for the first time in years.

It was a move unopposed by anyone in the industry and cheered by the regulators themselves. International sports books in Great Britain, Ireland and Australia and offshore Internet sites already allow such bets.

Lefty Rosenthal Home Vegas Home Sells for $777K

A home once owned by late famed casino exec Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal has sold for a cool $777,000.

Curbed.com refers to the house as “about as groovy a 70s time capsule as you’re likely to find adjacent to the Las Vegas Country Club”.

Ladbrokes Posts 9 Percent Fall in Profits

(Reuters) – Ladbrokes (LAD.L), Britain’s second biggest bookmaker, said it intended to maintain its dividend in 2015, defying some analysts' expectations of a cut to help fund marketing costs, as it posted a 9 percent fall in annual profit.

The firm has struggled to keep pace with rivals such as William Hill (WMH.L) and establish itself in a growing online sector, with investment in marketing and product lagging others.

What’s Everybody Betting On – February 26: Thunder, Liverpool FC

While a slow wagering day overall with limited games in the NBA and nominal matchups for the most part in both College Basketball and Soccer, there are still some good games on the board that are seeing decent action.

The Oklahoma Thunder are seeing the most action of any side Thursday with 85% of spread bets coming in on this game going their way. The Thunder were listed early as a -5 favorite.

Gambling Ring Nets 27 Arrests

27 individuals have been arrested as part of a six-month investigation into an illegal gambling ring in California.

Santa Clara police said they seized firearms, gambling machines and $70,000 in cash. This marks the second time police have attempted to break up the suspected gambling ring.

Internet Gambling Bill Introduced in Pennsylvania House

Pennsylvania State Rep. John Payne introduced a bill Wednesday that would legalize Internet gambling in what is the 6th most populous state in the U.S. 

Payne acts as the chairman of the House Gaming Oversight Committee and has already scheduled various hearings to explore ways to expand gambling in the state.

A New York City rabbi charged with kidnapping and threatening men with cattle prods who refused to grant their wives a divorce claims to have mediated Mafia disputes.

An undercover video was played in a federal court Monday to demonstrate Rabbi Mendel Epstein’s participation in mobster affairs.

The gangsters would reportedly clean guns in front of the rabbi and intimidate him.

Underground Hidden Cave Contained Gambling Machines, Ammo

FRESNO, Calif. – (Associated Press) - A domestic violence call at a Central California home led police to a hidden underground cave where two men were hiding from police.

The Fresno Bee reports that late Saturday police responded to a call at a home after someone reported a fight between a man and a woman in southeast Fresno.

Officers found a woman and children crying outside the home.

What’s Everybody Betting On: Louisville vs. Georgia Tech Betting Line

Carrie Stroup here with a special What’s Everybody Betting On for February 23.  The most heavily wagered on game was Louisville vs. Georgia Tech in College Basketball with a betting line of Cardinals -7.  Both sides were seeing solid action.  Kansas vs. Kansas State was also getting decent action.

Curacao-based Pinnacle Sports, one of the oldest established online bookmakers operating from the Caribbean, has been sold to an undisclosed buyer. 

Little details are known regarding the purchase other than that Las Vegas-based Alternative Trading Partners (ATP) is overseeing the deal .

Fantasy Sports Industry Pushes for Legalization in All 50 States

The Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) recently unveiled the Fantasy Sports Freedom initiative with the goal of promoting legalization of fantasy sports in all 50 states. 

Right now five states – Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and Washington – clearly bar pay-related fantasy sports operations.  Some daily fantasy sports sites have also steered clear of states where contests paying cash prizes fall into a grey area.

Another Deal to Sell Revel Casino is Dead

CAMDEN, N.J. – (Associated Press) - Another deal to sell Atlantic City’s former Revel casino is dead.

A bankruptcy court judge on Thursday approved Revel AC’s termination of a deal to sell the shuttered gambling resort to a Florida developer for $95.4 million.

The sale was supposed to have been completed by Feb. 9.

Former Austrian Tennis Star Investigated for Match Fixing

IENNA – (Associated Press) - Public prosecutors in Austria have opened an investigation into an alleged attempt to fix the result of a top-flight football match involving SV Ried in the 2007-08 season.

Prosecutor Alois Ebner tells the Austria Press Agency on Wednesday they are looking into claims made last week by Ried coach Oliver Glasner, who was the team's captain seven years ago.
