2015 Belmont Stakes Weather Forecast Calls for No Rain

Contrary to earlier weather forecasts, it is appearing as if the rain chances for the 2015 Belmont Stakes have diminished to 10 percent.

Early reports suggested a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, which would certainly have benefitted favorite American Pharoah.

His margin of victory in the 1 3/16th-mile Preakness on the muddy track amidst pouring rain was the largest since Smarty Jones won by a record 11 ¹/₂ lengths in 2004.

For this year’s Belmont Stakes race one should focus on horses that run well on dirt as opposed to any turf favoring contenders.

Lay Betting a Concern for Gamblers With 2015 Belmont Amidst Zayat Claims

In light of American Pharoah owner Ahmed Zayat’s admission to the New York Observer this past weekend that he routinely bet on horses, there are questions lingering as to whether Zayat - or other horse owners, trainers and the like for that matter – could opt to engage in lay betting at this year’s Belmont Stakes.

What is lay betting?

Dortmund, Firing Line Mudders? Hardly

With rain potentially in the forecast at the time of today’s Preakness Stakes race, we have to ask whether Dortmund and/or Firing Line are “mudders”, horses that like running in the slop.
