Payout Odds for UFC 298

UFC 298 is set to take place at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Saturday night, and it’s a loaded fight card. The same can be said about UFC 299 (March) and UFC 300 (April), but those are a bit down the road.

Here is a look at some of UFC 298’s top fights on the docket, along with our selections…

Featuring the Featherweights

UFC 298 has a main event, five-round featherweight bout. as Alexander Volkanovski (26-3-0) oppopes Ilia Topuria (14-0-0) with the crown on the line. It’s very rare to see betting lines as tight as this one Saturday evening. There isn’t much separation between the fighters.

Volkanovski is the wagering favorite at -130. He’s the reigning champion in this weight class. Topuria is the tepid underdog, priced at even-money, according to UFC odds.

Total rounds is set at 3½, over at -130 while under is even-money, as per Volkanovski vs. Topuria odds.

Volkanovski suffered some recent losses while trying “heavier” divisions. Topuria, meanwhile, has a shot to claim a title he believes he has earned. Take him to double your money.

Costa vs. Whittaker

The penultimate fight of the night will be a three-round middleweight battle between Paulo Costa (14-2-0) and Robert Whittaker (25-7-0). It’s a pairing that UFC fans have been dying to see.

Costa enters with some rust, as in just three fights since 2021. That is one of the reasons he’s the underdog at +185.

He’s also facing a proven entity in this bout. Whittaker has won some huge fights throughout his career, hence his role as overwhelming betting favorite at -225. Whittaker hasn’t been as dominant in the latter portion of his career, but he’s going to get the job done Saturday evening.

Cejudo vs. Dvalishvili

The bantamweight division does not have a legit challenger at this time, but that’s going to change here. Henry Cejudo (16-3-0) draws Merab Dvalishvili (16-4-0), and the winner probably getting a title shot later in 2024.

This will be a perfect opportunity to see Dvalishvili showcase his skills. He isn’t someone who is regularly featured in UFC. Dvalishvili is the -190 choice in this bout, Cejudo at +160.

There is a chance that Cejudo regains his form and puts it all together in the Octagon. While it’s tempting to go with the ‘dog, go with Dvalishvili to take care of business.

Hernandez vs. Kopylov

The preliminary card at UFC 298 includes middleweight contenders in Anthony Hernandez (11-2-0, 1 NC) and Roman Kopylov (12-2-2).

These two are both chasing a shot at the title, but still work that needs to be done before that.

Hernandez is the solid -220 choice, Kopylov at +180. Some unexpected UFC results have happened, and this just feels like one of those bouts. Expect Kopylov to prevail at a price.
