2012 Kentucky Derby Horses That Run Best on Mud

With showers expected all day Saturday, Gambling911.com looks at the 2013 Kentucky Derby horses that run best on mud. Go here to get the latest info (what appears below relates to the 2012 Kentucky Derby)

Bodemeister’s value only increases if a muddy track looks promising. He zipped 5 furlongs in the mud the just other day.  Gotta love Bodemeister early on at +450 odds.

Likewise, Union Rags Delaware Park debut took place on the muddy track where he ended up with a win.

Gemologist, another of the solid Kentucky Derby contenders, breezed four furlongs in 50.39 over a muddy track at the Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida.  His early 6/1 odds could be slashed further should rain threaten.  There is already value in betting Gemologist, especially if we will see a shorter price come race time.  He was now listed at 7/1 as of 12:45 pm EST.

Went The Day Well, currently at 17/1 odds, has demonstrated he can run well on muddy tracks.  His value increases dramatically should the rains come.

El Padrino at 13/1 odds has also shown he can run well in the slop.

Optimizer was bred for the synthetic track and probably would not fare well on slop.

I’ll Have Another performed poorly on the mud track of Saratoga.

Dullahan’s best races have come on polytrack or turf so we at Gambling911.com would suspect his value to drop should the rains move in.
