Prior to Tuesday's announcement that put Kamala Harris on the 2020 ticket, Biden was a -160 favorite to win the election, meaning bettors would need to wager $16 to collect $10, while President Donald Trump was a +130 underdog (risk $10 to win $13).
But shortly following Biden's decision to partner with Harris, the presidential hopeful saw his odds slashed to -135 by the bookies due to an influx of bets on Trump. The current President saw his odds improve to +105.
"It seemed like a knee-jerk reaction, but as soon as Kamala was picked we saw bet after bet come in on Trump," SportsBetting.ag oddsmaker Robert Cooper said. "There have been a lot of swings during this election year, but the bettors are definitely fading the Kamala factor."
