JD Vance to Hold Rally at Same Time as Ohio State Game? Latest Senate Odds
Republican Senate candidate JD Vance's campaign has just committed a cardinal sin.
The "Hillbilly Elegy" has decided to hold a rally in the state at the exact same time the Buckeyes are playing. Doh!!!!
Former U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to join him on stage September 17.
Not only is it sacrilege to hold any type of event in the state of Ohio during a Buckeyes game, Vance risks having nobody show up.
People do tend to come from out-of-state to attend Trump rallies. He has that in his favor at least.
Ohio State hosts Toledo that Saturday. That other Ohio team was expected to win OVER 8 regular season games in 2022. So pretty much the entire state will be engaged in football on September 17.
Vance is currently listed as a -450 favorite to win the Ohio Senate race, though the polls show this one much tighter. In fact, a recent nonpartisan Center Street PAC poll shows Ryan well pulling ahead.
“Tim Ryan has a big lead, but it’s by no means a comfortable lead,” said Center Street Co-Founder Matt O’Brien. “We’ve been expecting see undecided voters break in a big way for Vance, and these results show that’s started happening. The closer we get to the election, the more partisan breaks we’ll see. But we see indicators that Ryan has a real chance at winning.”
Kipp Jones of Mediaite writes:
"In a state that lives and breathes college football in the fall, the smart money says the crowd will be in Columbus – or at home watching FOX’s coverage of the game."
