Bookies Fare Well for Week 9 NFL But Miss With Patriots Cover

Bookies made out well in Week 9 of the NFL despite a New England cover with 75 percent of the backing.

New England had to cover a rather lofty number of 14 and managed to win by 17.  Most books had the Patriots as the single most wagered on side.

Others had Green Bay, who not only failed to cover, they lost outright versus Carolina.

Bookie Beat Down: Packers, Patriots, Steelers Could Provide the Dagger

Yesterday’s bookie beat down was more of a beat down of the gambler as Alabama came through with a decisive win over underdog LSU.  The Tigers had amassed around 75% to 80% of the public love coming into this game.

Today it’s the Packers, Patriots and Steelers that will have bookies sweating.

Bookies Get Mauled by Cardinals Cover: Recover With Broncos

What looked like a nice win for the bookies early on turned into a nightmare as the Arizona Cardinals came from behind to beat the Cleveland Browns.

Arizona was seeing more than 85% of the action in this game, making them the single most wagered on side of Week 8.

The 34-20 victory easily covered the -5 point spread.

Daily Fantasy NFL players backing Carson Palmer were just as joyous as the gambling public.

Bookies Make Out Big With Browns, Steelers, Colts Covers

The Indianapolis Colts were the icing on the cake for a great NFL Sunday for bookies, a bad one for the gambling public in Week 6.

“Outside of New England having to cover -9.5 to -10.5, Denver was the top play for the earlier part of the day,” noted Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com prior to that Sunday Night Football cover by the Colts.  “While the Broncos did ultimately win, they only did so by a field goal, failing to cover the 4.5 spread.”
