Police in Thailand are investigating whether Joran van der Sloot could be connected to the disappearances of girls who went missing in that Southeast nation while he resided there.
Van der Sloot confessed to murdering Stephany Flores, a young Peruvian student he met at a Lima casino while following the Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT). He is also the lead suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway from his native Aruba.
Van der Sloot is currently awaiting trial in a notorious Peruvian prison.
