Report: Full Tilt Poker Deal Could be “On the Table” by End of Next Week

eGaming Review is reporting that a deal could be “on the table” to purchase Full Tilt Poker by late next week. 

“On the table” and “Sealed” are two completely different things.  Full Tilt Poker, as we already know, comes with plenty of baggage.  This is a company that hasn’t paid US players in close to three months now and the European players are currently experiencing delays after FTP’s licensing arm shut them down last week.

PokerStars Lands Former Disney Exec

Mickey Mouse’ old boss, Eric Hollreiser, is now working for the world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars.

The company made the announcement on Thursday that it had hired Hollreiser as Head of Corporate Communications.  Hollreiser comes to PokerStars after holding executive positions at Disney and Microsoft.  He joins the firm at a time of transition following the indictment of two PokerStars executives by US authorities on April 15.

European Online Poker Sites Quick to Roll Out Huge Bonuses in Face of Full Tilt “Demise”

With the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) suspending Full Tilt Poker’s license last week, European online poker sites have not hesitated to raise their bonus offerings.

“Not only are they rushing to grab hold of Full Tilt Poker’s customers, these sites are also in competition with one another to provide new signups with the very best bonuses out there,” noted Payton O’Brien, Gambling911.com Senior Editor.  

Operators have made no qualms about capitalizing on Full Tilt’s plight.

QuickTender UseMyWallet Payouts Now Available but No More After 15 August

Good news for some of online gamblers and affiliates utilizing the services of payment solutions company QuickTender / UseMyWallet. 

The company has sent out a notice that it intends to pay all monies owed to these individuals, but with one caveat.  Any funds requested during a two week period in early May that were subsequently frozen by US authorities while in transit will not be available to players or affiliates. 

The US Justice Department froze funds heading to US players in mid May as part of an investigation into online gambling payment processors.

Ray Bitar Rumored to be Out at Full Tilt Poker

Indicted by the US Justice Department for money laundering and bank fraud, Full Tilt Poker head Ray Bitar was reportedly voted out as CEO of the troubled online poker firm. 

Last week, The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) essentially shut down Full Tilt Poker by suspending its license and cutting off the website.  Players have been unable to access the site for real money play.

Alabama Political Gambling Corruption Case Enters 5th Week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's gambling corruption trial has started its fifth week with an FBI agent testifying about his role in helping lead the investigation.

Agent John McEachern returned to the witness stand Tuesday morning in federal court in Montgomery. He is being questioned by a defense lawyer for state Sen. Quinton Ross about wiretap recordings where Ross asked VictoryLand casino owner Milton McGregor for campaign contributions. Defense attorney Lewis Gillis says the calls were routine fundraising requests in preparation for Ross' re-election campaign.
