Poker pro Dan Kelly says he “doesn’t care about a silly record” when it comes to cashing in eight different World Series of Poker events this year.
The record, for those of you wondering, is 11 in a one summer period.

Man Convicted of Killing Wife, Business Partner ‘Sports Betting’ Trial Postponed
A man convicted last month for the murder of his wife and business partner is about to go on trial once again, this time for illegal sports betting.
Federal court officials have postponed the federal gambling trial against South Carolina bookie Brett Parker and two other individuals until September 16 due to a change in public defenders.
The Feds indicted Brett and his father Jack on one-count charge of conduct of running an illegal gambling business this past February.
60-year-old Douglas E. Taylor is also charged with one count of illegal gambling.

New Jersey Landmark Sports Betting Case Appeal to be Heard June 26
U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals judges Julio Fuentes of New Jersey and D. Nichael Fisher and Thomas Vanaskie of Pennsylvania will hear oral arguments in Philadelphia June 26 pertaining to a landmark New Jersey sports betting case.
One Injured in Milwaukee Casino Shooting Monday Morning
MILWAUKEE —(Associated Press) - One person was injured in an early-morning shooting at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Milwaukee police said.
Sgt. Mark Stanmeyer said the 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was shot in the leg at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday during a fight inside the casino. Her injuries were not life threatening.
A 27-year-old Wauwatosa man from arrested at the scene, Stanmeyer said. He was not immediately charged.
Police did not disclose either person's name.

Alexandre Chieng has won the 2013 APPT Macau Main Event and the $278,940 that comes with it.
Chieng also earned himself a seat into the Macau ACOP Main Event this coming October for his efforts.
To date, Chieng has won close to a half million dollars in live tournament play and has 17 cashes.
Kenneth Leong finishes 2nd and takes home $179,088.

Ex-Bookie Testifies Regarding Whitey Bulger’s Alleged Veiled Threat
BOSTON (Reuters) - James "Whitey" Bulger made it clear to Boston bookmakers that murder was among his violent options if they balked at paying thousands of dollars in annual "rent" to the notorious mob boss, two former bookies testified on Friday.
"We have a business beyond bookmaking," Richard O'Brien recalled Bulger telling him in a private meeting decades ago to settle a disagreement. "Killing assholes like you." O'Brien spent decades placing illegal bets on horse-racing and football games.

New Jersey Sets Deadline for Online Gambling Partnerships
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — (Associated Press) - Internet gambling isn’t expected to start in New Jersey until around Thanksgiving, but Atlantic City’s 12 casinos must move fast to line up partners for their online operations.
The state Gaming Enforcement Division has told the casinos they have until June 30 to arrange Internet gambling deals.

Seneca Indians and New York State Reach Gambling Deal
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — An agreement has been reached between the state and the Seneca Nation of Indians in a long-running stalemate over casino gambling, a day after the tribal president met with members of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration for several hours in Albany, a state official said Thursday.
Cuomo was headed to western New York to announce the agreement, said the official, who was part of the negotiations and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because it hadn't yet been announced.

Whitey Bulger Trial to Feature Surveillance Videos as Evidence
(Associated Press) - A retired state police lieutenant has returned to the witness stand for a second day in the racketeering trial of reputed Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger (BUHL'-jur).
Lt. Robert Long on Thursday identified Bulger in video surveillance conducted by state police in 1980.
Todd Brunson Close But No Cigar, Kobe Bryant Delivers Message at WSOP (Video)
Todd Brunson almost won the WSOP Event 20 – the Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, bowing out in 3rd place.
Brunson takes home $107,349 for his efforts. The son of poker legend Doyle Brunson, Todd has one World Series of Poker bracelet under his belt to date.
1014 people entered the event, which at press time was still in the process of determining the next bracelet winner. Calen McNeil and Can Kim Hua were both locked up in a head-to-head battle.
