Angelo “Little Angelo” Spata has been charged with shoplifting $164 worth of lighting equipment from a Brooklyn, New York Home Depot.

Spata is the son-in-law of Colombo crime boss Carmine “The Snake” Persico.

A police report indicates that the alleged heist occurred November 8 whereby Spata attempted to exit the store with a dimmer switch and LED recessed lights without paying.

“How pathetic!” a law enforcement source told the New York Daily News.

The maximum prison sentence for this misdemeanor is one year in prison.

But Spata has more to worry about than a simple shoplifting charge.  He is currently free on $1 million bail in a separate federal racketeering case following a 2011 arrest that nabbed another 126 crime figures.

Senseless slayings, violent extortions, arson, labor racketeering, and drug dealing were outlined in a series of indictments that were unsealed as law enforcement agents fanned out across four states.  Corruption of labor unions, narcotics trafficking, gambling, and the extortion and shakedown of strip clubs also were detailed as part of that original complaint.
