BOSTON – (Associated Press) - As former FBI agent John Morris described reputed gangster James "Whitey" Bulger's role as an informant who ratted on criminals, Bulger stared intently at Morris.

Then, Bulger swore, dropping the F-word.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Kelly told Judge Denise Casper he heard Bulger say, "You're an effing liar," as Morris testified Thursday in Bulger's racketeering trial.

Former FBI Agent Who Admitted to Taking Payoffs Will Testify at Whitey Bulger Trial

A former FBI agent who admitted taking $7,000 in payoffs from James "Whitey" Bulger has testified that his first meeting with Bulger was "more of a social meeting than business."

John Morris began testifying Thursday. He was a supervisor of former FBI agent John Connolly, who was convicted of racketeering and second-degree murder for leaking information to Bulger's gang.

Morris, who has been given immunity, has admitted protecting Bulger from prosecution.

'Gambino Connected’ Online Sports Bookie Pleads Guilty

Douglas Corbin (AKA “Chubby” and “Fat Doug”) has plead guilty for his involvement in a Connecticut-based online sports betting site with ties to Costa Rica.

Corbin plead guilty Thursday to violating federal racketeering laws.

Connecticut State Police and the FBI contend that the 44Wager.com was headed by Dean DePreta, an associate of the Gambino Crime Family from Stanford who previously plead guilty to a RICO conspiracy.

Chris Christie Inflated Online Gambling Numbers Claims Brennan

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie released his forecast for taxes derived from online gambling over a one-year period, averaged after five years.

He anticipates the sector will take in $160 million.

Those numbers are actually down from $180 million.

But those figures might be inflated based on some other estimates.

Son of Gambling Tycoon Paijit Thammarojpinit Charged With Beating Up Girlfriend

The son of Asian gambling businessman Paijit Thammarojpinit has been charged with beating up his model girlfriend.

21-year-old magazine model Nattikarn Asawamongkolpan arrived at a shelter for battered women claiming that her boyfriend, Boonsit Thammarojpinit, had beaten her.

The shelter is attempting to provide protection for the model, whom they say is now paranoid.

Boonsit’s previous wife also accused him of assaulting her.  He was convicted of assault in a different case last year.

FBI Arrests 20 With Ties to California, International Sports Betting Ring

San Diego’s ABC 10 is reporting that FBI agents have arrested and served warrants on a La Jolla, California man as part of an investigation into an international gambling ring.

The house swarmed by federal agents at the 5800 block of Soledad Road belongs to Amir Moykaef, who law enforcement authorities confirmed has ties to the gambling ring.

19 others were arrested  throughout San Diego and Los Angeles as part of the investigation.

Testimony: Ex Whitey Bulger Alleged Hitman ‘Not a Serial Killer’

A former enforcer for James "Whitey" Bulger who admitted killing 20 people insisted Tuesday that he is not a hit man or a serial killer, but instead is a "nice guy" who was only trying to help his family and friends when he pumped bullets into victims while working with Bulger and his gang.

John Martorano made the statements in his second day on the witness stand during an aggressive cross-examination by a lawyer for Bulger, who is charged in a racketeering indictment with participating in 19 killings in the 1970s and `80s as leader of the Winter Hill Gang.
