Douglas Corbin (AKA “Chubby” and “Fat Doug”) has plead guilty for his involvement in a Connecticut-based online sports betting site with ties to Costa Rica.

Corbin plead guilty Thursday to violating federal racketeering laws.

Connecticut State Police and the FBI contend that the 44Wager.com was headed by Dean DePreta, an associate of the Gambino Crime Family from Stanford who previously plead guilty to a RICO conspiracy.

Another defendant, Richard Uva of Trumball, is also alleged to have helped run the gambling operation.  He has entered a plea of not guilty to a racketeering charge.

The heavyset balding Corbin, who is free on bond, faces up to 27 months in prison and a fine of up to $50,000. He agreed to forfeit $100,000.
