Havas Edge Loses DraftKings Contract as Daily Fantasy Sports Site to Spend Six T

Out with the old and in with the new as ad agency Havas Edge will no longer be handling the spend for Daily Fantasy Sports juggernaut DraftKings.

That company announced its intention to shed what they deemed to be a “frat boy” image just weeks ahead of the upcoming Football season.  The hopes are that it can soften its image with six times the spend or $200 million allocated.

Also gone will be that catchphrase “You can win a shipload of money!”.

AdWeek.com sources identified the agency finalists as BBDO in New York, The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., Arnold in Boston, Wieden + Kennedy in New York and Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners in Sausalito, Calif. A selection is expected by the end of the month.
