An Italian mobster wanted for nearly 20 years was put behind bars Saturday after being tracked down via Facebook.
Giulio Perrone, who is in his mid-sixties, had been a fugitive since 1998. He has ties to the Naples mafia, the Camorra, as well as international drug trafficking.
In 1993, Perrone was charged along with his wife for possessing 35 pounds of cocaine.
The following year, Perrone vanished. Ultimately the Italian police learned of his whereabouts in Tamaulipas, Mexico through Facebook. It was not immediately known what techniques were used to track the fugitive mobster down.
Perrone has since remarried and has children living in Mexico. He was deported back to Italy late Friday.
