Should it rain, Justify has already demonstrated he can run in the mud, having won both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes under such conditions. He is the 4-5 favorite to win the Triple Crown.

Bravazo and Tenfold finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the mud of the Preakness Stakes.

There is a possibility that the track will be dry on Saturday with rain not expected to be steady over an extended period of time and some forecasters believe that all the rain could stay south of New York.
