Indianapolis Colts: Get the -5 ½ While It Lasts

Sportsbetting.com had the New Orleans Saints at +6.  They were one of the few books to move the line up and others were likely to follow.  For the time being BetUS.com was one of about half the online sportsbooks still listing a line of -5 ½ for the Colts heading into Friday January 29.  Don't expect this to last as the money action was coming in heavy on Indianapolis.  Gambling911.com strongly suggests locking this -5 ½ point line in now here.  Obviously, if you are backing the Saints, you probably want to do so at Sportsbetting.com.

The Indianapolis Colts beat the New York Jets earlier in the day on Sunday to earn their ticket into the Super Bowl and an AFC Championship title.

Peyton Manning broke the NFL postseason record with his seventh game with more than 300 passing yards. He also threw for three TDs. Pierre Garcon's 151 receiving yards were the third most in Colts' postseason history and his 11 receptions were an AFC title game record.

This was the second time the Colts won an AFC Championship Game in which they trailed at halftime.

"We talked about being patient against these guys," Manning said. "We knew it would be a four-quarter game."

The Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints game was much tighter, heading into overtime after a Brett Favre interception.

Favre's interception, the Vikings' fifth turnover of the game, denied them a chance to kick a potential game-winning field goal at the end of regulation.

The New Orleans Saints, a team with no home and an uncertain future five years ago, are heading for their first Super Bowl.

"In reality, we had to lean on each other in order to survive and in order to get where we are now," quarterback Drew Brees said. "The city is on its way to recovery, and in a lot of ways has come back better than ever. We've used the strength and resiliency of our fans to go out and play every Sunday and play with the confidence that we can do it, that we can achieve everything we've set out to achieve."

This is the first time since 1993 that the two No. 1 seeds will face off in the Super Bowl.
