25 Seats to the International Stadiums Poker Tour Up for Grabs at Lock

Lock Poker announced Wednesday that they will be giving away 25 seats to the highly anticipated International Stadiums Poker Tour or ISPT for short.  This is part of a free roll occurring on Saturday February 16, 2013.

ISPT is the biggest poker event ever organized, mixing online and live gaming. The main event is starting online in February 2013 and continuing live in June 2013, in the stadium of Wembley, London.  70 percent participants playing live in Wembley for the “Day 2” will be paid out.

Nevada Senate Wants to Tax Profits of Internet Poker

CARSON CITY, Nev. (Associated Press) — The Nevada State Gaming Control Board is pushing for legislation in the Nevada Senate to tax the net profits of Internet poker tournaments.

Gaming Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett presented the bill, SB9, to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary Tuesday.

Class C felonies in the state of Washington include child molestation, multiple DWI offenses and drug dealing and – drum roll please – playing poker online

That’s right.  The state that just legalized marijuana usage criminalizes those who are caught playing poker on their computers and smartphones.  It’s been this way for over 6 years now and you can thank former Governor Christine Gregoire for that one as part of her overzealous attempt to protect Tribal casinos in the state.

Nevada Governor Pushes for Interstate Online Gambling: NJ Rivalry

LAS VEGAS — (Associated Press) - Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is using the low-grade rivalry between Las Vegas and Atlantic City to encourage lawmakers to pass a bill that could expand the state’s online gambling market nationwide.

The day after Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie suggested that he’d be open to legalizing some form of Internet gambling, the Nevada Republican released a statement asking lawmakers to act quickly to ensure the state maintains its place as the nation’s leader in gambling regulation.

Silence of the Hams: Ader Linked Websites Blocked Inside IGT

The Las Vegas Review Journal on Sunday reported that gambling firm IGT has begun blocking its employees from accessing gaming analyst Jason Ader-linked websites. 

Ader is currently embroiled in a nasty – and quite aggressive – proxy battle with IGT’s current management team.

In February 2012, IGT acquired a company called BringIt, Inc. (“BringIt”) and Gambling911.com can reveal exclusively some of the questions surrounding this business deal. 

IGT has previously identified the acquisition in filings with the U.S. Securities  and Exchange Commission (SEC), including on page 95 of IGT’s Form 10-K, filed on  November 28, 2012.

Remi Castaignon Leads at Final of 2013 EPT Deauville

French player Remi Castaignon, 29, has a massive chip lead going into the final of EPT Deauville with 9,900,000, more than 40% of the chips in play. Three Lebanese players have also made the final and now account for 37.5% of the field, from the 1.92% who started the event. Lebanon is the current EPT Country of the Year.

Poker Players Alliance Pleased With Christie Conditional Okay of Gambling Bill

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), the leading poker grassroots advocacy group with more than one million members nationwide, commended New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for his decision to establish New Jersey as a leader in online gaming. Governor Christie expressed his support for online gambling legislation, AB 2578, but through a conditional veto outlined a series of amendments the legislature will need to approve before the bill can become law.

Lesniak Expects Revised NJ Online Gambling Bill to be Passed by March 18

Cyril Andre Leads Final 23 at EPT Deauville 2013

French pro Cyril Andre is chip leader going into Day 5 of the €5,300 EPT Deauville Main Event with 2,108,000.

The 25-year-old from Toulouse - known as "Don Limit" online - has been playing poker for around five years and is considered one of the best online cash game players in France. His best live result to date was seventh in the Partouche Main Event in 2010 for €187,500.

Among those who will also be returning for Day 5 tomorrow are James Mitchell, Gordon Huntly, Aurelien Guiglini, Jeffrey Hakim, Glen Cymbaluk and serial PokerStars qualifier Yury Gulyy.
