Cake Poker Up 40 Percent Following Full Tilt Poker License Being Yanked

Cake Poker may not seem like one of the biggest European online poker networks, but they have certainly benefited from Full Tilt Poker leaving that market

With players returning home from the World Series of Poker, online poker traffic has risen 3.4 percent this past week.  Online poker rooms continue to swallow up traffic from Full Tilt Poker, which lost its license two weeks ago.

Gambling911.com’s own Jenny Woo might believe two plus two equals five but the reality is, Ms. Woo was not exactly hired for her math skills.

Jenny Woo: “Doyle Brunson Went All In, Lasted Barely Two Minutes”

Did anyone notice how fast poker legend Doyle Brunson went from “I won’t be attending this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event” to “Deal me in”.

A few people seem to be crediting our beloved Jenny Woo for providing a little last minute enticement:  “Come to the Punta Cana Poker Classic this November and I will make it all worth your time”.

And Doyle need not worry about being one of those “two minute men” (which is about how long he lasted at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event).  She’s had her fair share.

2011 World Series of Poker Main Event Attendance Likely Close to Last Year’s Numbers

Day 1A of the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event has drawn 897 people.  Last year’s first day attendance number was not that much higher at 1125.

Organizers of the WSOP expect more than last year’s mark of 7319 despite the events of April 15 Black Friday indictments against PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker.  The later two are yet to pay back US players.

The first day’s attendance is typically the lowest.  Last year’s number jumped up around 400 but the final two days drew approximately 1000 more.

3209 people had registered as of Day 1A.

Report: Full Tilt Poker Deal Could be “On the Table” by End of Next Week

eGaming Review is reporting that a deal could be “on the table” to purchase Full Tilt Poker by late next week.

“On the table” and “Sealed” are two completely different things.  Full Tilt Poker, as we already know, comes with plenty of baggage.  This is a company that hasn’t paid US players in close to three months now and the European players are currently experiencing delays after FTP’s licensing arm shut them down last week.
