ONCHAN, Isle of Man – The PokerStars 2015 Turbo Championship of Online Poker Main Event champion was crowned on Sunday, February 1, as Russian player ‘Nikki_Hefner’ won a first prize of $396,516.38. Despite making a deal with second-placed ‘riversousa’ from Brazil, the first prize of nearly $400k set a new record for largest single cash in a TCOOP event, beating the previous largest of $382,812 set in last year’s High Roller event.

Anthony Apicella Wins Deauville Main Event 2015 for €197,000

Corsican bar manager Anthony Apicella has won the €1,100 FPS Deauville Main Event for €197,000. The 32-year-old, who only plays a few live tourneys a year, beat a 1,355-strong field to take down the event. He said: "This is a victory of love, love of my family, love of my friends, who all supported me throughout the event."

Nathan Gozlan Leads EPT Deauville Main Event at End of Day 1A

French player Nathan Gozlan is leading the 108 remaining at the end of Day 1a of the €5,300 EPT 11 Deauville Main Event. He has 148,500, just ahead of Sweden's Alexander Ivarsson with 145,800. Team PokerStars Pro Online's Ronan Monfort, Team PokerStars Pros Eugene Katchalov and Marcin Horecki plus PCA champion Dominik Panka are all still in. There were 199 entries today - and there are already 171 registered for Day 1b tomorrow.

Ivan Luca Leads for Final Day of FPS Deauville 2015

Argentina's Ivan "Negriin" Luca leads the final 22 going in to the final day of the €1,100 FPS Deauville Main Event. The LAPT Punte del Este finalist is on an extended international poker tour after winning packages for EPT Prague and the PCA.

In Prague, he had two great cashes - runner-up in the €500 NL Deepstack Turbo for €12,000 and third in the €4k NL Deepstack 4x4 for €33,900. In January, he headed to the Bahamas (after winning a total of four packages!) where he had another great result: 33rd in the $25k High Roller for $44,540.

Eureka Poker Tour 2015 Kicks Off in Rozvadov, Czech Republic

The Eureka Poker Tour makes a return to Rozvadov, Czech Republic in February 2015, kicking off the fifth season of Central and Eastern Europe’s premier live poker tour.

A Sunday night altercation between sports mega agent Drew Rosenhaus and his estranged wife Lisa Thompson may have been spurred on by her hard partying with poker and Instagram Playboy Dan Bilzerian.

Las Vegas Ticket Drive Shows NHL Team Viable: Daniel Negreanu Pushing Hard

Efforts to bring a National Hockey League (NHL) team to Las Vegas gained support in recent days following an “unofficial” ticket drive campaign that was met with great success.

DOJ Settles in Fake Facebook Case: All Eyes on Paul Phua Cable Tech Ruse

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department has reached a $134,000 settlement with a New York woman after federal drug agents used information from her cellphone to set up a fake Facebook page in her identity, a tactic that raised privacy concerns and led to a federal government review of the ruse, according to court papers filed Tuesday.

New Credit Card Code for Online Gambling in New Jersey Should Reduce Decline Rate

A new credit card code is set to be introduced for online gambling in New Jersey come Springtime, thus helping to reduce decline rates.

Reports suggest that the approval rate for Visa cards has been around 73% on average for Visa with a dismal 44% for Mastercard.  American Express does not allow transactions for online gambling at this time.

While online gambling is legal in New Jersey, many credit card issuing banks, including Wells Fargo, have refused to allow transactions for Web gambling due to federal legislation.
