After six weeks and 22 witnesses, the panel of 12 Manhattan residents will decide if the 77-year-old will be the first former president guilty of a crime.  He is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

The jury returned on Wednesday to hear instructions from the judge before they were sent out to decide their verdicts.

Trump slammed the case against him as 'rigged' upon leaving the courtroom.

'Mother Teresa could not beat those charges,' Trump said speaking to the media. 'But we'll see.'

The ex-president also went after Judge Merchan.

'The judge is so conflicted that he can't breathe,' he claimed.

Manifold was quick to open a betting market on when the jury would come back with its decision.

Only 8 percent believed they would have a verdict on Wednesday.  56% believed the verdict would be reached by Thursday (May 30), or next day.  38% felt on Friday.

If found guilty, Trump would become the first U.S. president ever convicted of a crime.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if jury deliberations in "The People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump" end on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

If, on Wednesday, this case is dismissed, if there is a mistrial, or if this case ends due to a plea agreement before the end of jury deliberations, this market will resolve to "Yes".

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the presiding court in this case, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
