Every state matters when it comes to the 2024 US presidential election, but some states matter more than others.

These are known as "swing states".  The margins are seen as thin enough that either Donald Trump or Joe Biden can win, whereas most other states are seen as either blue or leaning Democrat or red leaning Republican.

Those deemed as most critical are as follows:

Rot     Which State Will Be Mentioned First?     Moneyline
Arizona         +700
Florida         +400
Georgia         -250
Pennsylvania         +500
North Carolina         +800
Michigan         +800
Minnesota         +800
Wisconsin         +1000
Nevada         +1000

And the favorite state to be mentioned first is Georgia at -250.  The listing is telling in that the top was the early favorite.  Here we have Arizona on top and now paying $70 for every $10 bet.

Recent polls suggest Trump leads Biden in Georgia ahead of Thursday night's debate.

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll of likely voters released Tuesday has Trump leading Biden 43% to 38%, just outside the margin of error of 3.1 percentage points. Independent contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is not yet on the Georgia ballot but is expected to qualify, is at 9%. Another 8% are undecided.

Gambling sites are offering dozens of prop bets for Thursday's debate that range from the viewership, who speaks first, who sips water first to odds on Trump cursing on air.
