Obama: Greater Than Jesus?

Obama Jesus

A Danish newspaper has suggested that US President Barack Obama is "Greater than Jesus".  The Politiken,  Denmark's oldest newspaper, featured an unsigned editorial this week.

"Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus - if we have to play that absurd Christmas game. But it is probably more meaningful to insist that with today's domestic triumph, that he has already assured himself a place in the history books - a space he has good chances of expanding considerably in coming years."

Since his Presidential campaign, Obama has often been referred to as a "Messiah" or "The Chosen One", comparing him to Jesus Christ.

Last April, painter Michael D'Antuono had planned to unveil a portrait titled "The Truth," a 30" x 54" acrylic painting on canvas depicting Obama appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross, at New York City's Union Square Park tomorrow, marking the president's 100th day in office.

If true, Obama may need to perform a few miracles come the 2010 mid term elections where the GOP is fast gaining steam. Then again, haste might make for waste.

The intrade.com betting markets suggest that Obama has little to worry about as 90 percent of the wagering money is leaning towards a Democratic controlled Senate following the mid term elections.  The House of Representatives might need some divine intervention as only 65 percent of the bets are going towards the Democrats control.  The volume was around 2000 for each market at press time.
