Sarah Palin Can’t Seem to Cut a Break: New Complaint Filed
The nation seemingly has fallen in love with Senator John McCain's running mate pick, Sarah Palin. In fact, there hasn't been this much excitement in the Republican party since Abraham Lincoln admitted to chopping down the cherry tree and eating the forbidden fruit. Or was the George Washington?
Well, that' irrelevant. At this point in time, some of us can't help but wonder if news will come out that Palin was the one who lied about chopping down a cherry tree or illegally shooting a moose.
It seems a day does not go by where the Alaskan Governor finds herself in the news for something not very positive. Whether true or unsubstantiated, the "controversies" surrounding Palin are too numerous to mention here in just a short week's time. None of these so-called "controversies" may turn out to have any legs. But then again, the more that's out there, the more the odds are against Sarah Palin coming through entirely squeaking clean.
On Sunday, she received another crushing blow. The union representing state Trooper Mike Wooten has filed an ethics complaint against Gov. Sarah Palin and members of her administration charging a possible unlawful breach of Wooten's confidential personnel and workers' compensation files.
It's the latest twist in what has become the subject of global media scrutiny -- whether Palin, the newly minted Republican vice presidential candidate, abused her powers as governor to try to drive her former brother-in-law out of the trooper ranks.
Sarah Palin reportedly accused Wooten of threatening to kill her own father as she listened in on a phone conversation between him and her sister (his ex-wife), apparently without his knowledge. Can you say "enhanced wiretap laws" if she comes into office.
But we all know the old saying: There is no such thing as bad press. In the case of Sarah Palin - who has become an instant favorite topic of discussion among Gambling911.com readers - the more press she gets (good or bad, and there really hasn't been much good in all honesty), the better her ticket seems to be performing, and the more likely Palin will end up stuffing our Senior Editor‘s head like a moose. One of the controversies surrounding Palin is that she wanted a librarian fired for refusing to ban certain books from the library in the small Alaska town where she was Mayor.
By Sunday evening, the Republican party had +130 odds of winning the White House - the shortest odds at Bookmaker.com yet.
