The social media rhetoric leading into Tuesday's election is at a fever pitch!

The map below is based on geotagged Twitter (X) data in the last two weeks (14 days) tracking candidate hashtags in every state.

For example, every tweet that contained #Trump2024, #TrumpVance2024, #Harris2024 and #HarrisWalz2024 were compiled for the 50 states, and the candidate with the most hashtag tweets "won" that state.

More than 10 million tweets were used in the study.

As you can see from the map, based on this data, Trump would win the election with 287 electoral votes versus Harris' 251 electoral votes. Needless to say, this is shaping up to be a very close election, and it seems all of the polling data (and social media data) speak to the fact it could go either way.

Below the map is an excel spreadsheet with the percentage of all hashtags for each candidate in all 50 states.

Battleground states (based on Twitter (X) Data)

Pennsylvania - Trump
Michigan - Harris

Wisconsin - Harris
North Carolina - Trump

Georgia - Trump

Arizona - Trump

Nevada - Trump
