The Chicago Beras odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl were listed early at 20/1 or +2000 for a payout potential of $2000 on every $100 bet at BetUS.com.

The problem for the Bears, even when they made it to the Super Bowl a few years back, was at the quarterback position.  That will not be a problem this year with the introduction of Jay Cutler, traded from Denver.

The Sporting News suggests that the acquisition of Cutler gives this franchise the best quarterback since Luckman played for Chicago nearly 60 years ago.

Even with injuries last and holes in the quarterback position last season, the Bears still managed a 9-7 record.  The division should remain weak, thus providing the Bears with an even better chance for excelling in the NFC.

Now for the bad news:  While the offense improved a bit last season, the defense is showing signs of deteriorating somewhat.  They will also have to do without two-time All-Pro safety Mike Brown and this places a huge hole in the secondary.  The Bears must also find a pass rush to succeed.

Another concern is that the receiving corps is a little suspect.

There is definitely talent on this team.  Whether they have enough of it to get to the 2010 Super Bowl remains to be seen.

The good news for Chicago is that they have a relatively weak schedule.  Aside from the six division games, the Bears will play 5 other teams that were under .500 last year and might still be under that number again this season.
