The Bills-Giants line remained steady at -3 with New York the favorite despite Buffalo’s impressive 4-1 record.  We should note that Buffalo was getting around 90 percent of the money line action while getting around 60 percent of the spread action.

Jaguars-Steelers Line Settles in at -12 (Video)

The Jaguars-Steelers line had dropped from -13 favoring Pittsburgh earlier in the week to -12 with 80 percent of those betting the spread backing the Steelers.

Be careful here as Jacksonville had won 4 of the previous 5 in this series dating back to 2005.

The Jaguars are 2-10 Against The Spread vs. a team with a winning record.

The Jaguars are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Steelers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Dolphins-Jets Monday Night Football Line Falls to -6.5

After opening at -9, the Dolphins-Jets Monday Night Football line has already fallen to -6.5 and could dip further.  New York was seeing close to 75 percent of the betting action on the spread.

Both teams have disappointed thus far in 2011, however, it is the Dolphins who enter this game without a win.  Miami’s offense has failed to produce more than 16 points in its last three games while their defense has allowed an average of 414.5 yards.

Tom Bryant, an analyst for BetOnline.com, had this to offer about the struggling Jets:

Jaguars-Steelers Spread at -12 (Video)

The Jaguars –Steelers spread opened at -13 and has since moved down to -12.  Spread betting action on this game was relatively balanced.

An underrated rivalry will be renewed on Sunday when the Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. These teams have paired up for some very memorable moments in the National Football League in what has been a good series for years.  The last three games played in this series were won by the road team.

Browns-Raiders Spread Sees Only Half Point Move

The Browns-Raiders spread has moved only slightly from Oakland -7 to -6.5 at some online sportsbooks and those in Las Vegas.  This is a little strange in that 80 percent of the backing on the spread is going towards Oakland.  One would think the line might be moving upwards.

The Panthers-Falcons spread was listed at -4 favoring Atlanta.  The line on this game initially opened at -5.5.  Spread betting action was relatively balanced as of Thursday.

What an interesting matchup this could be in Week 6 of the National Football League between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. In this NFC South battle rookie sensation Cam Newton will try to get his second win on the 2011 season.

Texans-Ravens Spread Extremely Fluid

The Texans-Ravens spread had opened at -6.5 but since that time Gambling911.com has counted four different lines on this game, everything from -7 to -9.  It is indeed a great middling opportunity, allowing one to bet both sides at two different books.  Spread action had Baltimore getting around 65 percent of the backing at the -7.5 line.

Last year, Baltimore won in overtime by 6 points in Houston.

The Texans are 1-5 Against The Spread in their last 6 games as a road underdog.

Spread on the Bears-Lions Monday Night Football Game at -5 (Video)

Who could have ever imagined we would see the spread on the Bears-Lions Monday Night Football game at -5 favoring Detroit.  After years of mediocrity (and worse), this year’s Lions team is for real and are one of only two undefeated teams left (the other being Green Bay).

2011 Week 5 NFL Betting Odds

2011 Week 5 NFL betting odds were available from BetDSI.com, offering mobile betting, live in-progress wagering and up to 20 percent cash on an initial deposit.

One of the more fluid lines was on the Bengals-Jaguars game.  After opening at -1 in favor of Jacksonville, the line has since alternated to -2.5 in favor of the visiting Bengals.  Some books were still offering close to even odds.  85 percent of the spread betting action was going Cincinnati’s way.

Packers-Falcons Line Moves to -6 in Favor of Green Bay: Sunday Night Football (Video)

The Packers-Falcons line has moved from -5 to -6 with Green Bay favored.  75 percent of those betting the spread were backing the undefeated Packers in this game.

Green Bay destroyed Atlanta in the Playoffs last year, eliminating them with a 48-21 victory.  The rest is history as Green Bay went on to win the Super Bowl.  Atlanta had won the previous two games in this series in 2010 and 2008, respectively.

Bucs-49ers Line Moves Up to -3 in Favor of San Francisco (Video)

The Bucs-49ers line has moved up to -3 in favor of San Francisco after opening at -1 earlier in the week.  A little more than 55 percent of those betting the spread were backing Tampa Bay here.

Last year, the Bucs shut out San Francisco by a score of 21-0 on the road.  This does not bode well for the 49ers as Tampa Bay is 15-5-1 Against The Spread in their last 21 road games.

The Buccaneers are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Buccaneers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog.

Seahawks-Giants Line at -9.5

After opening at -11.5, the Seahawks-Giants line has since settled in at -9.5 and that is probably where the line will close.  75 percent of those betting the spread for this game were backing New York.

There are some solid reasons for betting the Giants in this one.

New York has decimated Seattle in their last two head-to-head matchups both last year and in 2008.

The Seahawks have been a terrible team on the road, especially when heading to the East Coast.  They are 16-38-1 Against The Spread in their last 55 road games.

Bengals vs. Jaguars Betting Odds at Even

The Bengals vs. Jaguars betting odds were at even at some online sportsbooks.  A handful of the books were offering the line at -1.5 in favor of Jacksonville.  It is interesting to note that nearly 85 percent of those betting the spread were backing the 2-2 Bengals here.  Jacksonville comes into this one with a 1-3 record.

The Bengals are a bit of a surprise so far this season with their 2-2 record not necessarily reflective of the teams impressive performance thus far.

Saints-Panthers Line Hits -6.5 (Video)

The Saints-Panthers line was coming in at -6.5 in favor of the visiting Saints.  All the Las Vegas sportsbooks were offering the line at -6.5.  Just over 70 percent of those betting the spread were backing New Orleans.

In a matchup out of the NFC South, Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers host Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. It should be interesting to see how these new Panthers stack up against their division leaders in Week 5 of the National Football League season.

Raiders-Texans Line at -5.5 (Video)

The Raiders-Texans line was coming in at -5.5 favoring Houston heading into this weekend although a number of the Vegas sportsbooks had this one at -6 to -6.5.

Oakland comes into this game with a 2-2 record while Houston was at 3-1.

These two teams have played one another consecutively for the past six years with the Texans having the upper hand winning 5 of 6 and covering the spread each of those five times.

The Raiders are 12-2 Against The Spread in their last 14 games following a ATS loss.

Cardinals-Vikings Line Set at -2.5

After opening at -3, the Cardinals-Vikings line has moved only a half point down to -2.5 in favor of Minnesota.  Spread betting action was relatively even for this game.  Arizona has covered the spread in the last two games of this series over the past two years.

The Cardinals are 1-5 Against The Spread in their last 6 games on fieldturf.

Eagles-Bills Betting Odds: Spread Action Favors Philadelphia at 60 Percent

The Eagles-Bills betting odds were listed at -2.5 in favor of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles.  Had Buffalo not lost their game against Cincinnati, we would probably be looking at the Bills being favored.

Chiefs-Colts Line at -1 Favoring Indianapolis (Video)

The Chiefs-Colts line opened at -1 and some books were pushing this up to -2.5 heading closer to the weekend.  75 percent of those betting the spread were backing Indianapolis.

Titans-Steelers Line at -3.5 After Opening at -5 (Video)

The Titans-Steelers line has dropped two points after opening at -5 earlier in the week.  Tennessee is one of the surprise teams of the 2011 regular season, coming into this game at 3-1 and with a better record than the 2-2 Steelers.  65 percent of those betting the spread in this game were backing the Titans.

While Pittsburgh has beaten Tennessee in two of their last three games played since 2008, the Titans have covered the spread in two of those three head-to-heads.

The Titans are 13-5 Against The Spread in their last 18 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.
