A 29-year-old professional poker player from Germany who went missing June 21 has been found dead.
Slovenian police confirmed that a body found in the Ljublijianica River this past Friday is that of Johannes Strassmann.
The poker pro had been visiting some fellow players. He went missing after a trip to the town of Ljubljana.
Slovenian police officer Vinko Stojnsek confirmed the identity of Strassmann to PokerNews.com after 24 hours of DNA testing. "It is very sad to say that, but it is true," Stojnsek said. "The body we have found on Friday is of Johannes Strassmann."
The cause of death was not immediately known however the criminal police investigators excluded a violent criminal offence.
Strassmann has earned $1,466,622 in career live tournaments. He has cashed out in 16.
