Kid Poker Documentary Available Soon: Gets Rave Reviews

A documentary on the life of poker icon Daniel Negreanu aired in Canada Tuesday night but not everyone lives there so, as one would expect, folks are inquiring as to when this documentary will air over the Internet.

According to PocketFives Community Manager Kevin Mathers, details of where to watch will be released soon.

The documentary received rave reviews from his peers who were able to watch it.

Historic Norwegian poker championship over

The first poker championship to ever be arranged on Norwegian soil took place in Oslo this week and the event was closely followed by local Norwegian Poker sites such as Norskcasino.com (site in Norwegian). The finals followed 5 county championships, that saw the county champions and 2000 players fight for the titles in Oslo. The highlight of the tournament was the main event, which saw poker star Felix Stephensen becoming historic by taking home the first national title.

$13 Million Prize Pool in Upcoming Poker Events at Seminole Hard Rock

HOLLYWOOD, Fla.  - Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, has released its upcoming poker events through August 2016. The AAA Four Diamond-Rated resort will host five series that will pay out over $13 million in guaranteed prize pools. Signature events include the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open (January), Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown (April) and Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (July/Aug.) Pennsylvania House Committee Pushes Through Online Gambling Bill

The Keystone state is one step closer to passing a measure that would make online gambling legal within its borders.

The Pennsylvania House Gaming Oversight Committee backed a measure that would require land-based casinos in the state to license Web casinos.

In an 18-8 vote, representatives elected to advance the proposition to its chamber’s floor for further discussion and additional voting.

The measure is authored by the Oversight Committee Chairman State Rep. John Payne (R-District 106)

Poker Pro Alex Jacob Moves to Final on ‘Jeopardy!, ‘What is Aleve’

Poker pro Alex Jacob is vying to win this year’s Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions and he just moved one step closer with a victory Tuesday night.  Now one of the quiz show’s most popular contestants moves onto the finals. 

Jacob, a stock trader from Chicago, faced off against Brennan Bushee and Vaughn Winchell on Tuesday.

With the final question and the most money, Alex guessed “What is Aleve” when posed the question in the category “African Countries”: “These 2 6-letter countries rhyming countries derive their names from rivers & were once controlled by rivers”.

Alex Jacob Advances in ‘Jeopardy’ Tournament of Champions

Poker pro Alex Jacob was brought back on the television quiz show “Jeopardy” to take part in The Tournament of Champions this past Friday following an April run that earned him $151,802.

Now a Chicago currency trader, Jacob has advanced into this week’s semi-final founds. 

The winner of the Tournament of Champions will receive a cool $250,000.

Jacob has earned just over $2.5 million in his live poker tournament career to date.

Software Exec Neil Blumenfield Tells G911 He is Computing a Way to Win WSOP Main Event

LAS VEGAS -- If it wasn't for the presence of 72-year-old Pierre Neuville of Belgium at the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event--which resumes Sunday--the oldest player at the table would be 61-year-old Neil Blumenfield of San Francisco.

Blumenfield, a Silicon Valley software company executive, is no stranger to the WSOP Main Event. Three years ago, he finished in 285th place in the WSOP's signature event, earning nearly $35,000.

And the 2015 Battle of Malta Winner Is....

Nicolas Proust has won the 2015 Battle of Malta and a cool €165,000 that comes with it.  That low €550 really paid off.

The only drawback to winning, Proust couldn’t participate in all the great parties associated with BOM as the poker continued way into the early morning hours, beyond the time we were even out partying.

The 29-year-old former tennis coach from France is now etched in the Maltese history books for claiming the title at the biggest live poker tournament ever held on Malta.
