Elisabeth Hille of Norway made an amazing run, busting at number 10 and walking off with $590,442 but failing to make the Final Table of the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event.
This would have been the furthest a woman had ever come in the Main Event if not for the fact that Frenchwoman Gaelle Baumann was still among the final 10. Hille busted just before Midnight.

They continue to drop like flies as we fast approach the World Series of Poker Final Nine (otherwise known as the November Nine).
At the time this was going to press, one of two females still standing, Gaelle Baumann, sat at the bottom of the pack but was trending upwards.
Elisabeth Hille, the other woman player, was in 11th place and trending downward.
Percy Mahatan is eliminated in 16th place and takes home $369,026.
Robert Buckenmayer is eliminated in 17th place and takes home $369,026.

World Series of Poker Main Event Day 7 Player Profiles
There was plenty of excitement coming into Day 7 of the World Series of Poker Main Event as the final nine players will be determined from the 27 that remain now. Two of those players are women: Norway’s Elizabeth Hille and France's Gaelle Baumann.

Elisabeth Hille Makes Top 5 With 27 Left at World Series of Poker Main Event
Norwegian amateur Elisabeth Hille is conjuring up memories of fellow Norwegian Annette Obrestad, who won the first ever World Series of Poker Europe Main Event before she even turned 18 years old.
Should Hille make the Final Table of this year’s WSOP, she would become the first female to ever do so. Hille is one of two women still standing, the other being Gaelle Baumann of France in 20th place.

Women have not had much luck in the WSOP’s illustrious history but this year we have Frenchwoman Gaelle Baumann, who, with only 58 players remaining, was among the top 20. Day 6 was expected to conclude with 27 players remaining going into Day 7 Monday.
Earlier in the day, Vanessa Selbst had been eliminated in 73rd place.

World Series of Poker bracelet winners, Jason Somerville and Vanessa Selbst had been moved to the feature tablewith just under 80 players remaining mid afternoon Sunday local time. Selbst busted just as this was going to press.
A lot of eyes were glued to Frenchwoman Gaelle Baumann, who remained among the top 15 chip leaders. She was trending upwards at press time.
