2012 WSOP Event 1 Casino Employees World Championship First Bracelet Winner
Chiab Saechao has become the 2012 World Series of Poker’s first bracelet winner, taking the honor for the Casino Employees World Championship.
Event #1 is pretty self-explanatory. It’s for casino employees only, but is not inclusive to just those working in Vegas. Saechao is, in fact, a California blackjack dealer.
Tom Marchese Wins the WPT Super High Roller
Poker pro Tom Marchese has won the 2012 World Poker Tour Super High Roller event.
Marchese also won the more than $1.3 million that came with the WPT Super High Roller first place honor.
Coming into this event, the US-based player had won just over $770,000 in live tournaments to date.

The 2012 WPT World Championship Super High Roller event was down to 6 by 7:30 pm EST Friday.
Leading the pack was Daniel Perper, followed closely by Andrew Robl. Justin Bonomo, who had led much of the way into Friday, was 4th in terms of chip count.

Poker pro Marvin Rettenmaier had 6,715,000 chips to lead at this year’s World Poker Tour Championship. His count was 2-and-a-half times greater than that of the second biggest chip leader, Michael Mizrachi.

Poker ace Justin Bonomo was leading the 2012 World Poker Tour $100 Buy-In Super High Roller coming into Thursday. 27 big name players were taking part in the event, which will yield $1,282,905 to the winner and $822,375 for 2nd place.
Justin Bonomo, Andrew Robl, Dan Smith, Phil Galfond, Daniel Perper, Tom Marchese, Sam Trickett, Roger Sippl, Bill Klein, Isaac Haxton, David Sands, Cary Katz, Jason Mercier, John Juanda, Brian Hastings, Justin Smith, Clemenceau Calixto, Sorel Mizzi, Jean Noel Thorel, Dan Shak and last year’s champion Erik Seidel.

Brian Hastings, a popular poker player who has enjoyed great success online, is not exactly thrilled with The Cosmopolitan poker room in Las Vegas.

Daniel Negreanu Beat at EPT Grand Final, Will Take on ‘rUaBOT’ at Limit Holdem Challenge
Poker pro Daniel Negreanu has been beaten by Igor Kurganov of Russia at the 2012 EPT Grand Final €25,000 High Roller. As such, Negreanu lost out on a cool €1,080,000.
Now he moves forward to take on Internet poker player with the handle “rUaBOT”, a well-known limit hold’em specialist, according to PokerNews.com.
Both will play 1250 hands across two tables. Whomever has the most chips at the conclusion will win the event.
Ondrej Vinklarek Named EPT Season 8 Player of the Year
Czech poker pro Ondrej Vinklarek has been named EPT Season 8 Player of the Year. Vinklarek receives a trophy and automatic entry into EPT Barcelona, the debut event for EPT Season 9.
Vinklarek, 28, from Kolin, is often dubbed “the Czech Chris Moorman”. He’s also a Chess Candidate Master and WCOOP champion.

PokerStars qualifier Mohsin "Chicagocards1" Charania has won the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event for a massive €1,350,000.
Charania, 27, from Chicago, Illinois, beat fellow qualifier Lucille Cailly heads-up to take the title. Cailly, 29, from Paris, was the first woman ever to make the final of the EPT Grand Final and took €1,050,000 for her runner-up finish.

High Court to Hear Arguments in Poker Pro Phil Ivey Divorce Case
A Nevada high court is set to hear arguments in the ongoing saga of poker pro Phil Ivey’s divorce to wife Luciaetta.
In an order filed Wednesday, Chief Justice Nancy Saitta directed the court clerk to schedule this matter for the “next available calendar”.
"Based on our preliminary review of the record and the briefs, we have determined that oral argument would be of assistance in resolving the issues presented by the appeal," according to the order.
