Free Baseball Picks – August 13: Gambling911 on 17-5 Run
Yesterday Gambling911.com broke even with a 1-1 record but we hope to continue what’s been a terrific run over these past three weeks.
Today we are on the OVER 7.5 in the Pittsburgh/St. Louis game.
The OVER is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams. This series has gone OVER the current total in 7 of the last 10 games.
Charlie Morton, who is 4-3 wth a 3.88 ERA this season, s 2-8 when starting against ST LOUIS with an ERA of 6.30 and a WHIP of 1.867.
While Adam Wainwright is 8-4 against the Pirates, his Cardinals team is just 1-9 in their last 10 games as a favorite.
Keep in mind that the Cardinals are huge favorites here, primarily a result of Morton’s poor performance against them, yet that price is terrible since the Pirates have manhandled St. Louis this season. Pittsburgh comes into this game having lost three straight in Colorado. The Pirates are 9-2 in their last 11 games as a road underdog and if it wasn’t for Morton’s history, Pittsburgh would probably be a good play here as a +162 underdog.
The Steelers have scored 4 or more points in 6 of their last 8 games. St. Louis has been up and down but scored 8 runs yesterday and 13 runs the last time they faced Pittsburgh on August 1.
St. Louis could be without Carlos Beltran after the All-Star outfielder fouled a ball off his right foot in Sunday’s victory over the Chicago Cubs.
We will be on Cincinnati again despite their trouble of late getting runs. The Reds are a -138 favorite against the Chicago Cubs.
Homer Bailey is 7-2 when starting against the Chicago Cubs with an ERA of 4.38 and a WHIP of 1.472 and his team is 10-2. He has won his last two overall but lost four straight previous to those wins. Bailey is just 7-10 on the season with a 3.73 ERA.
He’ll be facing Jeff Samardzija (6-11, 4.23), who is 1-2 when starting against Cincinnati with an ERA of 3.52 and a WHIP of 1.369.
Cincinnati is 11-3 (+6.3 Units) against CHICAGO CUBS this season.
In his last start, Samardzija allowed nine runs and 11 hits in 3.5 innings.
The Cubs are 1-5 in Samardzija's last 6 starts as a home underdog and 5-13 in Samardzija's last 18 starts vs. a team with a winning record.
