Gunman Shoots Three Brothers at Houston Poker Game
A Houston poker game turned deadly after three brothers were shot, one fatally.
The gunman, who was not yet identified, asked the three brothers to leave the Houston home. The unidentified assailant was then asked to leave. He is said to have gone to his car parked in the driveway and returned with a gun.
One of the brothers pulled out a gun of his own.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara Seizes 16 Live Streaming Sports Sites Days Before Super Bowl
U.S. prosecutors seized 16 websites that streamed live sports events on Friday, just two days prior to Sunday’s Super Bowl. A Michigan man was charged with running nine of those websites.
Yonjo Quiroa (AKA Ronaldo Solano), 28, faces one count of criminal infringement of a copyright and will likely not serve any prison time.

Adelson is alleged to have “bribed” foreign officials in exchange for lucrative business deals. His casino empire enjoys a massive presence in the Asian gambling Mecca of Macua.

Bwin.Party Responds to DOJ Megaupload.com Complaint
The world’s largest Internet gambling company, Bwin.Party, responded to the US Department of Justice complaint that mentions its role as part of the high profile Megaupload.com indictment. Megaupload.com, a file hosting service, was taken down two weeks ago. The DOJ has accused the website of engaging in copyright infringement and pirating.
Bwin.Party had advertised on the service and was named in the complaint as a result. The gaming firm insisted it had terminated the contract with Megaupload.com once it became aware of the file sharing company’s activities.

Washington DC Won’t Allow Internet Poker After All
A Washington, D.C. Council committee has rejected plans to allow Internet poker in the District.
The Committee on Finance and Revenue voted 3-2 in favor of a bill to repeal the program, known as iGaming, which created controversy from the moment it was passed as part of a budget bill in December 2010, the Washington Times reported on Wednesday.
Had D.C. gone through with plans to allow online poker, the jurisdiction would have been the first in the US to do so.
2012 WSOP Schedule Released: New $1 Million Buy-in Revealed
Among the many surprises revealed with the release of the 2012 WSOP schedule, new events include a $1 million buy-in, re-entry, mix-max and four-handed formats. Also, as Gambling911.com reported earlier on Wednesday, there will no longer be a November Nine event.

No More November Nine: World Series of Poker Scraps Delayed Final Table for 2012 Schedule
The World Series of Poker was set to release its 2012 schedule. In advance of the announcement, the WSOP tweeted that the November Nine will not be found on this year’s schedule.
This past year near live coverage of the WSOP turned out to be a pretty huge success. Rumors of the November Nine demise had surfaced for months.

The November Nine was added in 2008 and went through 2011.
