Epic Poker League Makes Epic Deal With CBS Sports, Discovery Channel

The newly formed Epic Poker League has scored an amazing feat, joining forces with CBS Television and the Discovery Channel.  The announcement was made earl Wednesday morning.

The first airing will take place on The Velocity Network, described as an “upscale male lifestyle network” that is slated to take over Discovery’s HD Theatre on October 4, 2011.  13 hours of original Epic Poker League programming will be aired on that cable outlet while an additional seven hours of more riveting re-aired episodes will appear on CBS Sports.

Senator Behind Poker Bill is Deep in Pocket of Tribe

A California state senator has introduced a controversial bill in the state legislature that would legalize and license online poker in the Golden State.

Although online poker anywhere has caused its share of controversy, what makes State Senator Lou Correa's bill especially controversial is a draconian provision in it that would allow the State to confiscate the homes of state residents who use online poker rooms that are not licensed in California.

Full Tilt Poker Attorneys: Do Not Want to Pay Licensing Fees Without Reinstatement

Full Tilt Poker lawyers requested private hearing, media asked to leave, determination to be made if hearing gets postponed to later date

Tuesday’s hearing by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) revealed that Full Tilt Poker owes $250,000 in back licensing fees.  The hearing was being conducted to determine if FTP’s license would be reinstated. 

Full Tilt Poker attorneys were requesting a postponement of the hearing and that it be held in private due to “sensitive subject matter that might impede a potential acquisition of the company”.

Tom Dwan, Phil Galfond Promise $1 Million Payouts to Full Tilt Poker Customers: Hanukkah 2012

Happy Hanukkah to Full Tilt Poker players, even if you happen not to be Jewish.  Hanakkah 2012 is when Team Full Tilt Poker pro Phil Galfond promised to pay back players $1 million out of his own pocket if the company fails to do so itself.  Tom Dwan offered a similar promise of payback, though with a more cryptic date of late 2012, which could mean Christmas since Dwan is Catholic.
