EPT Prague 2012 Sets New Record: 864 Poker Players Participate
This season's EPT Prague is the biggest ever with 864 players from 63 countries competing in the Main Event at the Hilton Prague. The bumper field is 142 more than last season's EPT and makes this the richest poker tournament ever held in the Czech Republic.
Yesterday 336 players competed, with 180 making it through to Day 2. Today's Day 1b field numbered 528.

Poker Tournament News: Menikos Panagiotou Wins Eureka Pride 2012
The champion of Eureka Prague, the biggest ever Eureka poker tour event, is Menikos Panagiotou. The 29-year-old Cypriot had already outlasted 644 players to reach the final eight and he absolutely ran over the final table today, eliminating six of his seven opponents to claim the first prize of €137,100.

The last Saturday of Poker Maximus III wrapped up yesterday as players are gearing up for the four main events on Sunday. Eureka Prague Main Event 2012 Breaks Attendance Records
The €1,100 Eureka Prague Main Event has broken all records for attendance at a Eureka event with a total of 652 players turning up to compete at the Season 2 finale at the Hilton Prague Hotel. This is nearly double the previous biggest event which was the first Eureka event ever held, in Prague, in Season 1 with 329 players. The tournament is now on Day 2 and in the money. The total prize pool is €632,440 with 72 places being paid. The winner will receive €140,000.
National Heads Up Championship Returning to NBC in 2013: More Poker Tournament News
The National Heads Up Championship is returning to Caesars Palace Las Vegas January 24-26, 2013 following a year-long absence. This event will be broadcast on NBC.
Mori Eskandani, head of Poker PROductions, will once again be heading up production.
The NBC Heads-Up Championship is an invitational tournament with a $20,000 buy-in.

Poker Tournament News: 2012 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City Updates
In Tuesday’s poker tournament news, the 2012 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City Event #5, a $580 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, drew more than 30 percent more players than the previous $580 No-Limit Hold’em event held at Harrah’s Resort. In all, 260 players registered creating a prizepool of $129, 675. The top 27 spots will pay with a min cash worth $1,048. The champion will pocket $31,770.

WSOP Circuit 2012 Harrah’s Atlantic City Event 2 Will Pay Top 90 Finishers
The WSOP Circuit 2012 Harrah’s Atlantic City Event 2 is down to the final 90 and each player is now guaranteed $589.
This event was scheduled to play to a winner Sunday night and will award $50,000 to first.
Caufman Talley, who already has two WSOP Circuit rings, had the second largest number of chips behind Charles Moore as of early Sunday evening.
Yossi Azulay, who has 15 cashes in live tournaments to date, was among the top 10 chip leaders.

The WSOP Circuit Harrah's Atlantic City 2012 Event #2A kicked off Friday with 326 registrants. Another 400 players entered in Day 1B of this event, thus creating a hefty prizepool and top ROI for the champion of this $365 event. Players eliminated during the first day of play were permitted to re-enter in Day 1B. Late registration remains open through five levels, or roughly until 2:45 p.m.
The two starting fields combine Sunday to play to a winner.

MicroMillions III Becomes Most Popular Online Poker Series Ever: Russian Player Wins
LONDON, UK – MicroMillions III has set a new record for largest online poker festival, with 1,308,994 entries across the 100 events, beating the previous best of 1,294,889 set in the first MicroMillions series back in March, and the 1,288,221 entries from MicroMillions II in July.
2012 WPT Montreal Sets New Record
The start of this weekend’s 2012 WPT Montreal set a new record for a tournament with over a $1k buy-in taking place in Canada.
1173 entrants were recorded during Day 1 of this event with a previous record set earlier this month at the WSOPC Vancouver (1032 entrants). These figures demonstrate that poker is alive and well in Canada and apparently growing in popularity.

ANZPT Auckland 2012 Final Table Determined
The ANZPT Auckland 2012 Final Table is now set with Geoff Smith of Christchurch, New Zealand leading the way. The 39-year-old has been playing poker now for the past 6 years after first seeing televised games.
All but two of the Final Table participants reside in New Zealand.
Patrick Healy is a 38-year-old from Perth, Australia who had the second biggest chip count.
Battle of Malta 2012 Poker Tournament Gets Underway
The highly anticipated Battle of Malta 2012 poker tournament has begun with a total of 153 entrants.
Big name poker pros Daniel “Jungleman” Cates and Gaëlle Baumann made it through to Day 2.
Leading the pack of 67 who survived to earn a seat on Day 2 is France’s Michael Agoutborde who bagged 135,500 when all was said and done.
Brock Parker Wins 2012 Borgata Fall Poker Open
Brock Parker has won the 2012 Borgata Fall Poker Open and the $372k cash prize that comes with that honor.
A total of 644 poker players entered the event.
“It was a really good final table,” Parker told the Borgata blog after the event. “A lot of talented players.”
Parker’s life time earnings of just over $1.8 million include two first place finishes at the 2009 World Series of Poker that totaled nearly $800,000. He won two WSOP bracelets as a result. Parker has cashed out in 44 events to date.

Heartland Poker Tour Wraps Up The Year of Greg “FossilMan’ Raymer
Florence, IN – Season Eight on Heartland Poker Tour will go down in history as the Year of FossilMan. World champion Greg “FossilMan” Raymer went on a winning streak like no one has ever seen in poker. He won three HPT events in three months, and then followed up his hat trick with a spectacular finale at HPT’s Championship Open at Belterra Casino Resort to win the year-end title for $106,030.
