Falcons vs. Patriots Odds: Tom Brady Lawsuit Woes

The Falcons vs. Patriots odds remained consistent across the board after opening at New England -6 ½.

Tom Brady is facing the worst criticism of his playing career after blowing a game in the Meadowlands last weekend.  Now he's also facing a civil lawsuit related to his wedding.  How will all of this play out next weekend where the Patriots were listed as a -4 favorite to win at home against a red hot Atlanta Falcons team?

That is anybody's guess.  But it certainly can't be helping matters.

Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams Odds

Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams odds had the Packers at -6 ½ on the road facing St. Louis at Hollywood Sportsbook.  The line initially opened at -7 and, while there are a few holdouts at that number, most online sportsbooks have moved the line down to -6 ½.  Over 95 percent of the betting action on this game is going Green Bay's way.

The ESPN.com Intel report clearly explains the concerns for the Packers:

New Orleans Saints vs. Buffalo Bills Odds

The New Orleans Saints vs. Buffalo Bills odds featured a line of -6 at Sports Interaction and just about everywhere else for that matter.  This was a heavily bet on game with over 95 percent of the betting action going the Saints way and they will likely be getting more than 85 percent of the action come game time.

2009 Week 3 NFL Betting Odds

2009 Week 3 NFL betting odds are now up.  Let's take a quick look and see which books are offering the best value and what lines are moving the most.  The home team is in block capitals.

BALTIMORE -13 Cleveland:  The trend here is for the line to move upward.  We don't know how much the line will ultimately move as it's only gone up a half point at around 25 percent of the online sportsbooks.  This one opened at -13.  That line was still available at SBG Global

Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins Odds

Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins odds had the Colts as a -3 road favorite across the board with a few notable exceptions.  Sports Interaction was giving the Dolphins +4 odds so no doubt Miami backers would want to bet their team there.  BetUS.com was among the teams offering the Colts at -3.

Week 2 NFL, College Football Provide Mixed Bag For Bookies

Week 2 of the NFL saw similar results as Week 1 in that gamblers and bookies for the most part alternated between wins.

Public sports bettors did well by backing New Orleans, The Giants, Oakland and Minnesota.  But the bookies made out with the biggest play of the day on New England's loss since much of the action was going the Patriots way.  They also won a little money with Chicago and Houston both winning their respective games.

NFL Betting Action Report: 2009 Week 2

Which NFL teams were getting the most betting action Sunday morning for Week 2?

New England Patriots - The Pats were getting close to 65 percent of the public betting action but this game in general was the most wagered on so, even though the Patriots were getting more action than any other team in the league, a New England win by -3 ½ won't exactly destroy the bookies.  The Jets in fact were a top 7 bet in their own right.

The Vegas odds offered some variances from their counterparts in the online world during Week 2 of the NFL.

Planet Hollywood, for example, was offering a -9 line on the Washington Redskins in their game against the lowly St. Louis Rams.  None of the online sports betting venues featured this line.  The best they could do was Washington -9 ½ (see SBG Global)

Giants vs. Cowboys odds were coming in at Dallas -3 across the board, which is exactly where this line opened early in the week and few movements have been reported.  One lone exception for Cowboys backers is that SBG Global was offering a line of -2 ½ and that was expected to be short-lived so Gambling911.com was suggesting locking this line in now if you like Dallas.

Atlanta was fantastic against Miami last week while Carolina was downright awful at home against Philadelphia.
