Las Vegas is now the number three gambling destination in the world, falling behind Macau and Singapore

Las Vegas continues to lose some serious ground to its Asian counterparts, more specifically Macau and Singapore.  While Macau has been blowing Sin City out of the water in recent years, Singapore has just claimed the number two spot of top gambling destinations this week.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The defendants in the Alabama gambling corruption trial starting Monday in Montgomery:

Milton E. McGregor of Montgomery; owner of VictoryLand casino in Shorter; charged with one count of conspiracy, six counts of federal program bribery and 11 counts of honest services mail and wire fraud.

Merge Poker to Stop Taking New US Players Through Month of June

The Merge Poker Network has halted new US signups through the month of June as it works to incorporate new payment processing platforms and add more customer service agents. 

While the network could begin accepting new US players as early as the end of June, the network may extend this policy through the summer depending on how quickly it can get new processing in place.

Macau Says Gambling Revenue Surges 42 pct in May

HONG KONG, June 1 (Reuters) - Gambling revenue in Macau, the world's largest gaming market, jumped 42.4 percent in May to 24.3 billion patacas ($3 billion), the Macau government said on Wednesday, bolstered by unabating demand from mainland tourists eager to gamble in China's only legal casino destination.

Internet Poker Rat Under Investigation for Fraud Down Under

Australian authorities are said to be investigating notorious informant Daniel Tzvetkoff for fraud.

The one time payment processor is believed to have worked closely with US federal authorities in bringing down three of the world’s largest online poker rooms.  All three are still operating in some capacity outside the US, though only PokerStars has paid its stateside clients in full to date.
