Keen Ice, Frammento Odds of Winning the 2015 Belmont Stakes

Keen Ice and Frammento were both long shots to win the 2015 Belmont Stakes.

The 7th place finisher at this year’s Kentucky Derby, Keen Ice has not finished better than 3nd place in any race he’s been entered in, making him a huge 23/1 long shot, though we think this number should probably be much higher.

Frammento has the longest odds in this year’s Belmont Stakes race.

Can Materiality Beat American Pharoah in the Belmont Stakes: Odds at 5-1

Materiality has very slim odds of beating American Pharoah.  The 6-1 price being offered is way to short for this particular Belmont Stakes contender.

He won his first three races, including the Florida Derby, but finished sixth at the Kentucky Derby and skipped the Preakness.  The “jockey factor” will be important here as John Valazquez did win at the Belmont three years ago.

2015 Belmont Stakes Weather Forecast Calls for No Rain

Contrary to earlier weather forecasts, it is appearing as if the rain chances for the 2015 Belmont Stakes have diminished to 10 percent.

Early reports suggested a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, which would certainly have benefitted favorite American Pharoah.

His margin of victory in the 1 3/16th-mile Preakness on the muddy track amidst pouring rain was the largest since Smarty Jones won by a record 11 ¹/₂ lengths in 2004.

For this year’s Belmont Stakes race one should focus on horses that run well on dirt as opposed to any turf favoring contenders.
