PokerStars Lifelong Ban of Player 'Jama-dharma’ for Buttoning
The world’s largest real money online poker room has banned a player for life after accusing him of a practice known as “buttoning”.
The player, known by the handle of ‘Jama-dharma’, is accused of sitting at an empty table and waiting for it to fill up before quitting said table in advance of the big blinds. “Buttoning” also entails an individual being able to play games for free as they never paid for mandatory antes.
PokerStars had issued a prior written warning to ‘Jama-dharma’.
27 Players Remain at 2013 WSOP: Last Lady Sitting is Out
Day Six of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event is in the books and just 27 players remain in the running for a seat at the final table after beginning the day with 68 hopefuls just eight hours earlier.

JC Tran Among Chip Leaders at 2013 WSOP: Glazier Makes Big Move
Big name pro JC Tran was among the top 3 chip leaders early in the evening Sunday as the last woman standing was on the ropes, though we had some good news just for Jackie Glazier as this was going to press.
The WSOP tweeted:

Glazier, though, was near the bottom of the chip count with just 37 left. And just moments before this went to press, Glazier shot up into the top 25
Dan Bilzerian Loses $3.1 Million in a Single Night Shooting Dice and Playing Poker
Poker pro Dan Bilzerian tweeted that he was “kinda bummed” after losing $3.1 million Saturday night shooting dice and playing poker while visiting Los Angeles for the weekend.
Bilzerian claimed to hate tourneys and, as such, declined playing at this year’s World Series of Poker.
"I'd rather discuss a girls modeling career than play the WSOP," he tweeted last week.

Poker Community Reacts to Joe Barton Bill HR 2666: No Chance Says Some
Texas Republican Representative Joe Barton unveiled his latest bill to legalize online poker within the United States late Thursday.
HR 2666 would essentially make it easier for states to opt out of federal legislation and initially only permit gambling facilities (casinos, riverboats, race tracks) with at least 500 slots, and cardrooms with at least 175 tables to offer licenses. Credit cards would also be permitted for online poker play. Barton’s bill also appears to embrace the Tribal casinos.
Doyle Brunson Continues to Hold His Own at WSOP Main Event
Slipping a few notches to the lower tier of the 70’s in terms of chip counts, the Texas Dolly, Doyle Brunson, was still among the more successful players kicking off Friday’s play of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event. 77 out of 649 ain’t too shabby after all.

Nevada Gambling Revenue Up, Zynga Rises
(Associated Press) - The state Gaming Control Board reports Nevada casinos won $897.3 million in May, posting a 1.37 percent increase from the same month a year ago.
The May winnings pushed the fiscal year-to-date total to more than $10 billion, 2.4 percent more than last year.
Taxes collected on the May win totaled $57.5 million, an increase of 10.9 percent.
The Las Vegas Strip posted a 6.4 percent monthly gain over May a year ago and is now 5 percent ahead of 2012.
Casino winnings in Reno jumped 9.8 percent.

Gun Toting Poker Babe Anna Benson on Ex Hubby: ‘Can’t Keep it in His Pants’
The ex-wife of Texas Rangers player Kris Benson, Anna Benson, was arrested and booked Monday morning following an alleged brazen home invasion.
Anna, a poker player who has previously entered World Series of Poker events, reportedly entered Kris’ home dressed entirely in black and wearing a bulletproof vest. She also pulled a gun from her purse and also carried a metal baton.
In a 911 recording, the former baseball player appears to be calm.
Caesars Shares Up Due to Online Gambling Spinoffs
Caesars Entertainment Corp (CZR) has gained 13 percent to $15.94 Wednesday after announcing it plans to offer about $1.18 billion in stock in its expansive US-based online gambling business. The company has more than doubled this year.
The company plans to offer a real money platform for its WSOP.com website and last week partnered up with its four Atlantic City properties to begin offering real money Web gambling to residents of New Jersey.

A poker commentator and model, Anna Benson, has been arrested for an alleged home invasion.
The outspoken ex-wife of former Texas Rangers star Kris Benson reportedly broke into his Georgia home, brandishing a pistol and whacking his computer with it. Kris made a frantic 911 call at the time of the apparent forced entry.

Day 2A/B of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event championship was filled with plenty of highlights, disappointments, and dramatic moments.
