World Poker Tour 2013 Schedule Announced
The World Poker Tour (WPT) has unveiled its 2013 schedule Monday.
World Poker tour’s first televised event of Season XII will take place in Los Angeles when the WPT Legends of Poker returns to the famed Bicycle Casino on August 29. Other televised Main Tour events in 2013 include:
Heartland Poker Tour Cruising Back to the Caribbean With Maria Ho
Port Canaveral, FL – By popular demand, Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is heading back to the warm waters of the Caribbean with Card Player Cruises, sailing away on January 12, 2014 for a seven-day cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. The schedule for “HPT on the High Seas” will include an HPT Main Event, qualifying events, multiple side tournaments, and cash games, along with plenty of sun, sand, and surf. The cruise will depart from Port Canaveral, located near Orlando, Florida.

Online Casinos, Poker site Shut Down, Funds Seized in Alleged Drug Case
Some are calling it the “Black Friday for the Online Casino Industry” as a number of Dutch-based web gaming sites were recently shut down. At least one poker site, AmsterdamPoker.com, was also taken down as part of the law enforcement operative.

Federal Online Gambling Bill to be Introduced in Congress by Peter King, Joe Barton
LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) - Legislation to allow online poker gambling in the United States will be introduced in Congress that would give casinos a larger market than the current few states which allow it, like New Jersey and Nevada.
Online poker would generate $10 billion in added revenues by 2017 if allowed by federal statute, according to the American Gaming Association. About $4 billion is now being spent for illegal sites, the AGA said.

As was first reported on Gambling911.com Wednesday, WSOP.com online poker rolled out its real money play site for residents of Nevada.
