2012 WSOP Results: Herbert Tapscott Wins Event #8: Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better
Herbert Tapscott has won his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet and the $264,400 cash prize that came with it at this year’s Event #8: Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better.
The 71-year-old from Alabama has won $322,250 on the live circuit to date with a total of 20 cashes. This is his second 1st place finish.
Will The Thrill Failla thrown Out of WSOP Event After Entering a Third Time (Video)
Poker pro Dutch Boyd believed it to be an ‘honest mistake” whereby Will “The Thrill” Failla ended up thrown out of the World Series of Poker Event 9 $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry for a third time.
Boyd told Quadjacks.com: “It’s kind of a shame too, he had a nice little stack.”
Failla appeared to believe he could re-enter the tournament for a third time.
WSOP Event 6 No Limit Hold’em Mixed Max Showdown: Joseph Cheong Led With Chips
It was down to three players Sunday evening at the World Series of Poker Event 6 No Limit Hold’em Mixed Max with the winner about to pocket just over $480,000.
Joseph Cheong was the chip leader with Warwick Mirzikinian of New South Whales, Australia trailing in second. Montserrat’s Aubin Cazals was in third place at press time.
Event 6: No-Limit Hold'em Mixed Max Will Pay Almost Half Million
With just 16 remaining at press time, the winner of this year’s World Series of Poker Event 6: No-Limit Hold’em Mixed Max will receive just shy of $500,000 ($480,564 to be exact).
This event is so rich that each player finishing between 9th thru 16th place will receive just over $24,000.
409 players took part in this event.

The World Series of Poker Event #5 Pot Limit Hold’em was winding down during the late evening hours of Friday. One of the most winningest poker pros of all time, Daniel Negreanu, managed to go deep, finishing in 5th place and leaving the table with $41,683.
Nick Jivkov, Bryan Pellegrino and Jonathan Aguiar were each vying for the WSOP bracelet in this event at the time Gambling911.com was going to publication.

Selbst is guaranteed to take home at least $87,231.
Selbst an American professional poker player who has made three final tables and two heads-up semi-finals at the World Series of Poker.
Phil Hellmuth Going Strong, Stout Out at Current WSOP Events 2 Thru 4
Phil Hellmuth was among the top 15 chip leaders in the first open event of the 2012 World Series of Poker. He was taking part in the Event #2: No-Limit Hold'em, which was offering a sweet $517,725 to the winner.
Hellmuth, the WSOP record bracelet holder, made headlines last year when he managed to finish in second place in three World Series of Poker events.
Elsewhere, Event #3: Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em / Pot-Limit Omaha – also got underway Tuesday with a 512 player max.

2012 WSOP Event 1 Casino Employees World Championship First Bracelet Winner
Chiab Saechao has become the 2012 World Series of Poker’s first bracelet winner, taking the honor for the Casino Employees World Championship.
Event #1 is pretty self-explanatory. It’s for casino employees only, but is not inclusive to just those working in Vegas. Saechao is, in fact, a California blackjack dealer.
2012 WSOP Event 2 No Limit Hold’em Will Pay $517,725 to Lucky Winner
Whoever wins the 2012 World Series of Poker Event #2 No Limit Hold’em will walk away with a gold bracelet plus $517,725. This year’s WSOP opened on Monday and will continue straight through January, culminating with the Main Event and determination of the nine finalists. The final table will return in November.
World Series of Poker to Have its Own Live In-Game Scoreboard
At this year’s World Series of Poker, the game will join the ranks of professional sports by offering fans a live in-game scoreboard.
The company tasked with providing this new technology is PageMail. The new software to be used by dealers is called ChipTic.
Bracelet events will feature dealers handling a Blackberry- tablet inputting various data.

The 2012 WPT World Championship Super High Roller event was down to 6 by 7:30 pm EST Friday.
Leading the pack was Daniel Perper, followed closely by Andrew Robl. Justin Bonomo, who had led much of the way into Friday, was 4th in terms of chip count.
