Poker Pro Brian Hastings Blasts The Cosmopolitan Poker Room in Vegas

Brian Hastings, a popular poker player who has enjoyed great success online, is not exactly thrilled with The Cosmopolitan poker room in Las Vegas.

Last year, Vegas Inc. suggested the Cosmopolitan was “too big to fail”.

Hastings pushed the “fail” button this weekend following play with the likes of Doyle Brunson, who snapped the accompanying photo of Brian.

Intertops Poker Anticipates ‘Significant Increase in Ring Game Liquidity' with Revolution

Intertops Poker has expressed excitement over the rebranding of its current network to Revolution Gaming on June 1.  The world’s first online gambling website, Intertops.com said it was “expecting a significant increase in ring game liquidity, increased player-rewards and a much richer tournament schedule” as part of the changeover. 

Revolution Gaming was formed after Lock Poker entered into a deal to buy certain assets of the Cake Poker Network.  Cake Poker will continue to operate on the newly branded network.

Lesniak Says Christie Back on Board Regarding Internet Gambling: June 30 Target Date

State Sen. Ray Lesniak, D-Union, said that he believes that Governor Christie is “back on board” regarding online gaming, and predicted that the Legislature would pass a bill by the end of the session on June 30.  This was according to John Brennan of NorthJersey.com.

Phil Hellmuth Launches ‘Poker Brat Radio’ on ESPN Radio

World Series of Poker record bracelet holder Phil Hellmuth this week launched “Poker Brat Radio”.

The show debuted at 5 pm PST May 15.

Hellmuth is best known for holding 11 WSOP bracelets.  He has 45 live tournament cashouts and has sat at 85 final tables.  He has finished in 1st place.  He has won just shy of $11 million in live tournaments to date.

U.S. Internet Gambling Legislative Activity Reaches Historic High

According to U.S. Internet Gambling Regulatory Tracker, a new legislative monitoring service from GamblingCompliance Ltd., nine states have taken up legislation authorizing or prohibiting some combination of Internet poker and casino gaming in 2012, up from seven states in 2011.

Bwin.Party Sales Inch Upwards

LONDON - (Reuters) - Bwin.party digital, the world's largest listed online gaming company, said first-quarter revenue edged up and that it expects to be offered a licence to offer online gambling in Germany soon.

The company, which was formed by the merger of Austria's Bwin and PartyGaming last year, on Wednesday said revenue rose 1 percent to 215.9 million euros ($275.8 million) in the three months to the end of March as growth in casino and gaming offset weakness at its poker and bingo businesses. It added that April trade was in line with last year.

Illinois Could Jump Into Online Poker Fray

Illinois Senate President John Cullerton suggested Tuesday that Illinois could benefit significantly from the multi billion dollar online poker industry.

Americas Cardroom Lowers Poker Players Bad Beat Jackpot Contribution by Half

A spokesman for Americas Cardroom announced today that they will be reducing their mid stakes players bad beat jackpot contribution by half. Players who played $0.25/$0.50 and above contributed a maximum fee per hand of $0.50 in the old structure. Moving forward all stakes between $0.10/$0.25 and $1/$2 will only contribute a maximum of $0.25 per hand.

Nevada Online Poker to Take Another 7 to 10 Months Says Regulator: 3 More States Want In

While intrastate online poker has already been made legalized in Nevada, real money Web card rooms won’t be available for another 7 to 10 months, regulators announced during a meeting with operators and the state’s Governor on Monday.

The first licenses are expected to be issued within the next 30 to 60 days or by the end of June 2012.  Security remains a vital issue with regulators noting that another 6 to 8 months will be necessary for testing of any Internet poker site.

Vegas Casinos Partner Up With Online Poker Rooms With Questionable Pasts

(Reuters) - To prime itself for the U.S. debut of legal online poker, MGM Resorts International, owner of such Las Vegas Strip monuments as the MGM Grand, the Bellagio and the Mirage, wanted a partner that knew the ropes.

So last October it hooked up with Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment Plc, a London-listed, Gibraltar-based specialist that rakes in more from Web betting than any other publicly traded company. MGM Resorts took 25 percent of a new venture 65 percent owned by Bwin.Party, with smaller Las Vegas casino operator Boyd Gaming getting the remaining 10 percent.
