82-year-old Poker icon Doyle Brunson apologized on Friday for the hacking of his Twitter account this past week.  Twitter finally temporarily suspended the account but not until after Brunson’s hacker(s) had offended African Americans, the LGBT community and women.

RAWA Online Gambling Prohibition Bills Gains Little Traction in Congress

Rep. Barton introduces Internet Poker Freedom Act

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) introduced H.R. 2888, the Internet Poker Freedom Act of 2015 Thursday morning. The legislation licenses and regulates internet poker and seeks to restore the rights of people to play the “all-American” game, while at the same time protecting them from fraud. H.R. 2888 also mandates the implementation of technology that prohibits underage players, provides aid for problem gamblers, and preserves state’s rights.

Poker Pro Vanessa Rousso Among House Guests for ‘Big Brother’ Season 17

Amaya Silent Over Insider Trading Investigation at Annual Meeting

MONTREAL – (Canadian Press) - Although Amaya is at the centre of an insider trading investigation of a US$4.9 billion acquisition, you wouldn't know it at the online gaming company's annual meeting Monday.

The subject was not broached by management and no shareholder raised a question about it to its chairman and CEO David Baazov, who is among those being investigated by Quebec's securities regulator.

Baazov later told reporters that the investigation makes great headlines but hasn't spooked investors or distracted Amaya officials.

Doyle Brunson Twitter Page Hacked: ‘I Hope All My Followers Die’

82-year-old poker legend Doyle Brunson has one of the largest Twitter followers in the universe but somehow his account managed to get hacked.

The Tweets were ugly, telling his 416K followers he hopes that they all die and that one individual he wishes would die of cancer.

Obviously, none of these tweets were made by Brunson.

There were even pornographic photos posted.

Tom Holland Replaces ‘Poker Jerk’ Toby Maguire in Popular ‘Spiderman’ Franchise

A relatively unknown actor has been cast to play “Spiderman” in the popular Marvel film franchise.  He replaces Toby Maguire, a poker player with a penchant for being a “jerk at the tables”.

That’s how famed poker hostess Molly Blom referred to Maguire in her memoirs “Molly’s Game” posted late last year.

He “was the worst tipper, the best player, and the absolute worst loser,” according to Bloom, who organized high stakes celebrity poker games Maguire played in.

Bwin.Party Sells World Poker Tour to Ourgame for $35 Million

(Gambling911.com News Wire) – Struggling Bwin.Party has sold its tournament arm, World Poker Tour, to Ourgame for US$35 million, Rueters revealed on Monday.  The sale was classified as debt free and payable in cash.

Ourgame is a Hong Kong-listed social gaming company with interests across Asia and a market capitalisation of approximately HK$5.7 billion (US$733m).

Under the terms of the transaction, bwin.party will continue to sponsor various WPT events and television shows in both the United States and Europe until 31 December 2016.

Casey ‘BigDog' Jarzabek Banned From Twitch for Watching Porn During Live Stream

Jarzabek was banned from the popular social media streaming site Twitch, then had his account reinstated.  The offense: Watching porn during a live streaming.  Granted he thought his stream was shut off.

Influential New York Lawmaker Opposes RAWA Online Gambling Prohibition

Online gambling just got itself a powerful new ally in New York.  J. Gary Pretlow who chairs the Racing and Wagering Committee of the New York State Assembly.

Pennsylvania Online Gambling Won’t Happen for At Least Another Year

(G911 News Wire) - Should Pennsylvania legislators vote to allow online gambling in the state, actual play is not likely for at least another year.  This is what gaming official told a Senate panel on Wednesday.  The proposal calls for existing land-based casinos, for which there are around a dozen in the state, to license the online gambling sites.
